Residents and commuters along Louisiana Avenue in St. Louis Park should ready themselves for some disruptions starting Tuesday, March 11, as the city gears up for its upcoming infrastructure improvements.
Vineland Tree Care, the city’s contractor, will be on site between Cedar Lake Road and Wayzata Boulevard to remove trees in preparation for the 2025 & 2026 Cedar Lake Road and Louisiana Avenue Improvements project. According to the city notice, this phase of the project will run through March 14, weather permitting. The city underscores the importance of resident participation in maintaining a safe working environment, urging the public to maintain a safe distance and proceed with caution in the construction area.
Tree cutting will see only the trees above ground removed at this stage – the stubs are set to be removed during the summertime construction. The City of St. Louis Park stresses their commitment to tree preservation but deems these removals essential due to their impact by the impending construction.
Replacement of the felled trees is on the city's agenda, as plans to plant new trees post-construction are already in the works.
