The metropolitan landscape of Atlanta's Dunwoody area is set to receive an economic uptick with the announcement from TriNet, a human resources consulting firm. The California-based company is preparing to invest in a $15.4 million corporate center, bringing approximately 750 jobs to the region in a strategic move confirmed by both local government and the firm's top brass.
Speaking at a recent event, Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch shared her enthusiasm about the forthcoming opportunities, "Trinet is planning to create 750 new jobs at the new corporate center in Dunwoody," as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. Similarly, Governor Brian Kemp expressed that this development is poised to "create meaningful jobs and investment for the Dunwoody and DeKalb County community," demonstrating the shared interest of state and local officials in the project.
TriNet's investment in the metro Atlanta area also underscores the region's allure as a burgeoning business hub. Mike Simonds, TriNet’s president and CEO, acknowledged this potential, "We look forward to opening a new TriNet office in metro Atlanta and becoming a part of this vibrant and growing business community," he told Atlanta News First. The new roles at the 150,000-square-foot space are said to encompass tech, HR consulting, client management, and sales positions.
The presence of these new jobs promises to not only bolster but also diversify the local economy. The impact of the corporate center could potentially bring additional residents and taxpayers to the city, according to Mayor Deutsch. She stressed the importance of local hiring, "Most of these positions don’t exist currently. So they won’t be bringing people with them as they move operations here. They will have to hire people locally," as revealed by FOX 5 Atlanta. This local employment growth in Dunwoody is expected to create a ripple effect in the community, increasing consumer activity in local businesses, a view supported by Sergio Garate of Emory’s Goizueta Business School in comments made to FOX 5 Atlanta.
Details regarding the exact location of TriNet's new corporate center are still under wraps, and the timetable for initial job postings remains unclear. FOX 5 Atlanta has reached out to inquire whether any of the building expenses will fall to the taxpayers but is awaiting a response. What is clear, however, is the estimated average salary of $75,000 for these roles, which Garate suggests could mean about $56 million in additional income for the area.
