Two individuals have been detained by Orange County authorities following a fatal incident over the weekend, which left one man dead and another woman injured. The arrests are a direct consequence of what transpired after a car crash led to the discovery of two gunshot victims. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, directing them to the junction of Oak Ridge Road and South John Young Parkway, where they stumbled upon the alarming scene, as originally reported by WFTV.
Upon the deputies' arrival, they located both a male and a female suffering from gunshot wounds inside the vehicle, and while the woman's injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, the man, subsequently identified as 18-year-old Edson Gordiano, succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital, WESH has reported. The investigation quickly led officers to the 5900 block of Casa Del Rey Circle, pinpointing the origin of the shooting and the subsequent arrests of David Germosen and Jasmyah Gabriel Estrada, aged 20 and 18, respectively.
Germosen is now facing a charge of second-degree murder, and Estrada is charged with felony murder in the third degree. However, authorities have yet to disclose the motives behind this tragic event.
