Following a tragic incident on the evening of October 30, 2024, authorities have made headway in the investigation involving a fatal hit and run. According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol (WSP), two individuals have been taken into custody. Madison Clare has been booked on a warrant for Felony Hit and Run Death, and Brandon Carlson is facing charges for Rendering Criminal Assistance concerning the case.
The WSP’s report details how communications received a 9-1-1 call around 6:30 p.m., alerting them to the collision on SR 523 near Stone Ave, where a 23-year-old woman lost her life. Initially, a car stopped to allow her to cross the road, but as she proceeded, a black 2007 GMC Yukon traveling in the other lane struck her and fled the scene. This vehicle, as noted by authorities, would have sustained front-end damage.
Investigators had been calling for public assistance in locating the GMC and identifying who was in the vehicle at the time of the fatal collision. In response, the community was urged to contact Trooper Sergeev with relevant information, to aid in piecing together the circumstances that led to the untimely death of the young pedestrian.
