In Warren County, a grim discovery has led to the arrest of two individuals in connection with the homicide of 56-year-old Bruce Allen Morton. According to WSMV, 46-year-old Nina Judkins and 54-year-old David "Day-Day" Alexander face charges of criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse after Morton was found deceased, his body concealed beneath a mattress.

Responding to a call, Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies reported to Holcomb Road on Friday at around 4 p.m. They encountered a camper owned by Morton, by which human feet protruding from under a mattress cast an ominous sign. Upon removing the mattress, a piece of wood and a blanket covered Morton’s body that was determined, after confessing to the murder, Judkins and Alexander shifted its position to hide it under the aforementioned mattress.

In a confession to Warren County deputies, Judkins implicated both herself and Alexander in the act, as reported by WKRN. The motive appears to have stemmed from a dispute over allegations of stolen property.

District Attorney General Chris Stanford disclosed to WATE that a search warrant executed at the scene corroborated the witness and offender accounts. "The disagreement that led to the killing reportedly started over an allegation that Mr. Morton had stolen an item of personal property," Stanford said. Both suspects are held on a $1.6 million bond, confirmed by the investigation that continues by Stanford's office and the sheriff's department.

In a poignant address, Stanford extended condolences: "The family and loved ones of Bruce Morton are in my prayers," he expressed, urging the community to join in mourning the tragic loss. "Rest assured, all of us in the law enforcement community will continue to seek maximum punishment and accountability for violent offenders in our community through our tireless efforts to ensure that solid investigations result in 'Guilty' verdicts at trial." He added, thankful that more violent offenders are now off the streets of Warren County.
