Two individuals were hospitalized following a trench collapse in Cobb County that occurred near Powder Springs. The incident took place Wednesday afternoon in the 9000 block of Hill Road, as confirmed by Cobb County fire officials. 11Alive reported that the site appeared to be a construction area.
Upon arrival, fire crews discovered two people caught within the collapsed trench, with one managing to free themselves before emergency services reached the scene, Fox5Atlanta detailed. Assisted by a collapse truck, responders successfully extricated the second individual.
Both parties involved in the unfortunate accident were described as alive and stable, and they were transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for further evaluation. The current state of their health, following the hospitalization, has not been released.
