The Montgomery County Department of Police announced the arrest of two men in connection with the homicide of Antoine Lavale Parker, who was fatally shot inside his apartment in September 2024. The investigation, led by the department's Major Crimes Division, Homicide Section, pointed to Erick Darryl West, 65, of Gaithersburg, and Daryl James Howard, 45, as the primary suspects in Parker's untimely death.
Responding to a shooting report, officers found Parker on September 22, 2024, at around 11:24 a.m., wounded by gunfire inside his own living space. Following months of meticulous investigative work, Howard was slapped with firearm-related charges on December 20, after detectives executed a search warrant at his home. Charged with first-degree murder on February 26, 2025, Howard remains detained at the Carroll County Detention Center, facing unrelated charges.
In a similar legal trajectory, an arrest warrant for West was issued on February 24, 2025, leading to his subsequent apprehension two days later. According to the Montgomery County Police, "On February 26, a search warrant was executed at his residence, and he was taken into custody without incident." West is now held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being kept without bond.
