Two men were nabbed yesterday after a swift response from the Harris County Constable's Office to a reported attempted vehicle theft. The incident, occurring at the Old Navy on Northwest Freeway, led to the arrest of individuals identified as Adan Ruiz and Juan Serna. The pair allegedly tried to make off with a GMC Yukon, but their attempt to escape was prevented by alert officers on patrol.
The constable's deputies arrived quickly at the scene, after the distressed vehicle owner reported the burglary attempt. Deputies found the suspects in a gold Chevrolet Tahoe not far from the crime scene, and a lieutenant patrolling near Northwest Freeway and FM 1960 Road managed to intercept the vehicle. Ruiz and Serna, both Hispanic males, were detained and subsequently identified by witnesses as the perpetrators, according to a Facebook post by the Constable's Office.
The complications for Serna did not end there as he also faces charges of Tampering with a Government Record. Details regarding the suspects' bond and court appearances have not yet been disclosed.
