A brazen carjacking incident disrupted the downtown calm of San Diego's Core-Columbia neighborhood early this morning, according to the San Diego Police Department. The SDPD's Watch Commander, Officer D. O'Brien, reported that at approximately 2:54 AM, an adult male was forcibly relieved of his grey 2023 Kia Forte by two assailants on 600 7th Ave. The victim was driving northbound when a white male, later identified as Ryan Williams, blocked the vehicle's path and jumped onto the hood.

The driver stepped out to confront Williams, which led to a physical altercation. Meanwhile, a second man, Ronald Senigar, described as a black male, climbed into the driver's seat of the Forte. Amid the chaos, Williams joined his accomplice in the vehicle, and the duo sped away southbound on 7th Avenue. The distressed car owner later found his Kia parked in a lot near 7th Avenue and F Street, where officers responding to the scene apprehended Senigar, who was still seated in the driver's seat.

Ryan Williams did not remain at large for long, as he was spotted walking through the same parking lot shortly thereafter. He led officers on a brief chase on foot before being taken into custody, according to the San Diego Police Department. Robbery detectives arrived subsequently to take over the investigation. Once detained, Williams and Senigar were charged with carjacking and resisting arrest and were booked into jail, facing charges defined under 215 P.C. carjacking and 148(a)(1) P.C. resisting arrest.

As the police continue their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the carjacking, they encourage those with any pertinent information to come forward. Eyewitnesses or individuals privy to details about the incident can contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
