The Ann Arbor Police Department rushed to the scene at around 11 a.m. this past Tuesday after receiving a call from a local named Gin Walker, who was startled to find the animal while disposing of plants, "I was bringing some plants out to the dumpster opened the lid and those two little eyes were staring right at me," she said. According to FOX 2 Detroit, details emerged describing how she circled the dumpster frantically, seeking assistance before calling 911 to rescue the infirm dog.

Ann Arbor authorities and Washtenaw County Animal Control jointly coordinated the rescue effort.
