Vallejo is facing a crime surge as two masked individuals carried out a series of smash-and-grab burglaries. According to the Vallejo Police Department, the theft happened on Wednesday. The suspects, driving a white Honda Accord, targeted cars at red lights and in parking lots, breaking windows to steal valuables before quickly escaping.
A woman was robbed at Redwood Street and Sonoma Boulevard, followed by another incident near Redwood Street and Admiral Callaghan Lane. The suspects grew bolder, even stealing a purse from an open car door near Springs Road and Oakwood Avenue. They took bags, purses, cash, credit cards, and a car key fob, causing both financial and personal losses for the victims.
Police later found the white Honda, but the suspects refused to stop, leading officers on a chase from Vallejo to Pittsburg. The pursuit ended near Cannery Avenue and Emerson Court, where the suspects abandoned the car and tried to flee on foot. Vallejo police quickly arrested them.
Inside the car, officers recovered stolen items linked to multiple thefts. One suspect also had outstanding warrants totaling $100,000. The duo now faces charges including burglary, grand theft, conspiracy, evading police, and hit-and-run.
