Last Tuesday, the Vallejo Police Department Patrol Division responded to retail thefts at various stores along Admiral Callaghan Lane. Witnesses reported suspects stealing high-end beauty products and fragrances and making their escape in a white BMW, according to a social media post from the Vallejo Police Department.
During a patrol near Tuolumne Street and Sereno Drive, officers spotted the vehicle tied to the thefts. After initiating a felony traffic stop, three individuals were detained for having bags of stolen goods in the car's back seat. Among the stolen goods, they found almost a month's supply of unprescribed Oxycodone in the driver’s sock and over $1,300 in cash.
The three suspects faced varying charges based on their criminal history. The driver, caught with the prescription pills and cash, was not only dealing with theft charges but also possession of narcotics. Seated behind him was his father, who had prior convictions for theft and could now face tougher penalties due to Proposition 36. The third suspect had an outstanding felony arrest warrant for theft from Placer County, suspected of stealing merchandise valued at over $100,000 from multiple stores.
Following the arrest, employees from the stores where the thefts occurred positively identified the suspects. All of them were booked into Solano County Jail on multiple felony charges.
