Vallejo Police Department responded to a troubling attempted armed robbery involving juveniles on Gonzaga Avenue, according to a recent social media post by the department. The incident on Sunday has left the community shaken as three male juveniles are said to have tried to rob a Vallejo resident at gunpoint.
The event unfolded when the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, encountered the juvenile suspects upon answering her front door. With the threat of violence brought to her doorstep, one assailant aggressively pushed the victim to the ground. Simultaneously, a gun was drawn and aimed by another one of the crew, taking the role of the enforcer from his white backpack, as the third kept watch on their surroundings. The victim's home, filled with screams of fear from those inside, caused the juveniles to flee the scene abruptly.
The chilling episode was captured on the homeowner's surveillance system, providing the authorities with visual evidence of the suspects' identities. Following the incident, Vallejo officers promptly searched the area and found three individuals near Stanford Drive and Hastings Avenue, fitting the descriptions of the suspects. In a critical move to solidify the suspects' connection to the crime, "the victim was escorted to the scene for an in-field show-up, where she positively identified the three juveniles," the Vallejo Police Department post detailed.
One juvenile was handed back to guardians, being too young for juvenile detention. The other two perpetrators, however, were booked into the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility as a testimony to the gravity of their actions.
