
In a somber revelation from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, a homicide investigation is underway after an adult female was found dead in Meiners Oaks. According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a distressing call at around 4:09 PM last Friday, which led them to the grim discovery of a life extinguished too soon.
The report states that the female victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was discovered unresponsive in her garage on the 500 block of La Luna Avenue. The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office, upon arrival, confirmed signs of trauma, indicating foul play. A range of law enforcement units have been involved in the investigation, underscoring the seriousness of the case, including the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau, the Ojai Patrol and Station Detectives, and the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigations Unit. Ricardo Ortega of Oxnard has been named as the suspect and was arrested on March 1, subsequently being booked for murder, as reported by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
