Food truck vendors with a hankering to serve up their culinary creations to a hungry crowd take note: Wake Forest is calling. The town is currently accepting applications for those wishing to participate in the 2025 Fireworks Spectacular. Vendors have until Friday, April 11, to throw their hat in the ring, as reported by the Town of Wake Forest's news release. With space for up to 18 food vendors, the competition might be as intense as the event's pyrotechnics.

Due for ignition on Thursday, July 3, at Heritage High School, the gates will crack open at 5:30 p.m. But before the night sky lights up with vibrant explosions, participating food trucks must have arrived, positioned themselves, and prepared to feed the masses by between 3 and 3:30 p.m., navigating their way through the expected surge of patriotic patrons.

Application is no simple fill-in-the-blank ordeal, though. Vendors must have all their ducks in a row, including all necessary Wake County permits — whether that be a Mobile Food Unit permit or a Temporary Food Event permit. A thorough background screening isn't just advised, it's mandated. Insurance documents are required at a minimum of $1 million for both automobile liability and general liability, where the Town of Wake Forest should be listed as an additional insured specifically for the event date.

Should the culinary entrepreneurs decide to apply, expect to fork over a $175 fee to secure a spot at the feast under the fireworks.
