Ohio residents and those in nearby regions will enjoy fair weather and above-normal temperatures in the coming days, thanks to the interplay between high-pressure systems and an advancing cold front. According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, a high-pressure ridge near the Tennessee and Lower Ohio Valleys will initially shape the conditions, giving way to a cold front sweeping through by Tuesday. "Behind the front, another ridge builds from the north-central United States and vicinity through midweek," reported the weather experts.

In the near term, scattered snow showers are anticipated over eastern Lake Erie, northwest Pennsylvania, and far northeast Ohio until daybreak, with minor accumulations expected. "Otherwise fair weather is expected through Monday as stabilizing subsidence accompanies the surface ridge," the NWS Cleveland noted, with Monday warming under mainly clear skies and persistent warm air advection. The region will see breezy conditions with primarily southwesterly winds through Monday—these may result in low-level wind shear overnight, potentially affecting flights over the region.

The short-term forecast through Wednesday promises dry conditions and continued warm temperatures, with mercury rising into the 50s and 60s. A low-pressure system passing through northern Ontario aids this temperature surge, though a respective cold front will cool things slightly by Tuesday night. High pressure following swiftly on the heels of this frontal passage ensures a quick return to mild, dry weather with highs on Wednesday likely achieved earlier in the day, "as cold air advection will be battling the diurnal cycle," the NWS Cleveland predicts.

As the week progresses into the long term, Thursday may bring spotty showers with a warm front, although chances for significant rainfall remain low. By Friday, conditions are set to become notably milder, with potential highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s, ahead of an occluding low-pressure system. This system will likely bring rain into the weekend, with "PoPs increasing to likely." Mariners on Lake Erie should exercise caution as remaining ice responds to warming temperatures and elevated winds, with wave potential largely dictated by ice flow, which could prove hazardous.
