A parade was held on Monday to mark the 100th birthday of Mr. Jenkins, a longtime resident of Girard Street. The Washington Metropolitan Police Department, in partnership with DC Fire and EMS, organized the birthday procession to honor the centenarian. The event was also highlighted in a social media post to acknowledge the milestone.

As part of the event, Mr. Jenkins was presented with tickets to the Washington Nationals' opening day game, proclamations from Mayor Bowser's office and Councilmember Parker’s office, and a birthday cake from Commander Rooney.
