
In response to a notable uptick in major traffic accidents involving commercial motor vehicles, the Waukesha Police Department has inaugurated a new Commercial Motor Vehicle Traffic Unit. This initiative is set to enhance the safety of Waukesha's roads by way of stringent enforcement and educational outreach.
The announcement came via a recent social media post from the department, detailing the resources that have been put into action. "Thanks to grant funding, the Waukesha Police Department has launched a new Commercial Motor Vehicle Traffic Unit," the post began. This specialized team consists of Traffic Specialists and two fully equipped police vehicles, dedicated solely to the task of traffic enforcement, focusing particularly on commercial vehicles.
With the support of the grant, the new unit aims to mitigate the risks posed by heavy commercial traffic. The Waukesha Police Department recognizes the essential nature of this work, asserting through their Facebook post, "Together, we’re working towards a safer community!" Emphasizing a communal effort, the hashtag #WorkingTogether underscores the collaborative approach envisioned by the authorities.
