In a joint effort that reads like a detective novel, the White Settlement Police Department (WSPD) and the Dallas Police Department executed a search warrant that recovered over $150,000 worth of stolen construction equipment. An announcement disseminated on the White Settlement Police Department's Facebook page revealed that this sting also resulted in the seizure of two firearms, drugs, and an unrelated arrest.
According to the social media post, the search occurred last Friday at a property on Garza Avenue in Dallas after a lengthy investigation into a burglary at a commercial construction site reported on February 21. The original theft involved significant amounts of construction equipment. The case took a major turn when the victim spotted some stolen goods on Facebook Marketplace, a lead that White Settlement Police Department detectives pursued ardently. During the search of the premises, Ulysses Medina, 26, was arrested on a myriad of charges, including drug possession and multiple warrants.
"Our goal is always to work hard to recover stolen property and identify those criminals responsible," said Chief of Police Christopher Cook. "By being proactive and working alongside multiple victims, we were able to help them recover almost all of their construction equipment that was stolen."
