The City of White Settlement is giving Central Park a bit of a facelift this spring as both the beloved skate park and the middle basketball court are set to undergo resurfacing projects. A recent social media post by the City of White Settlement outlined the timeline for these rejuvenation efforts.

The skate park closed its gates on Tuesday for the stated resurfacing work, with its ramps removed. Although this is only a temporary measure, the park is set to reopen by the end of this month. The basketball court will follow suit, starting tomorrow, taking a time-out for its resurfacing and anticipated to bounce back into action at the end of the month.

For residents who might be feeling adrift without their usual stomping grounds, the city has provided a Spring Break alternative by holding an Open Gym at the Rec Center. As outlined in the announcement, the gym is open for basketball play from 1 pm to 5 pm through Thursday, and all are welcome to join. You can sign up to participate online or in person at the Rec Center itself.
