In a tragic collision over the weekend, four people lost their lives in a high-speed crash in Orange County, with Windermere High School senior Sammy Lahik among the deceased. According to WFTV, the accident occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday on Central Florida Parkway and Whitley Place. Authorities reported that two vehicles, a Toyota Camry and a BMW, were involved, and both were speeding moments before the fatal impact.
The Florida Highway Patrol disclosed that one of the cars attempted to pass the other, resulting in the sudden collision. The subsequent impact forced the Toyota to violently crash into a light pole, while the other car, the BMW, collided with several trees. According to the ClickOrlando report, the incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m., and sadly, the repercussions were fatal for four individuals, including young Lahik.
Windermere High School has responded to this devastating event by arranging grief counselors on campus to assist students and staff grappling with the loss. "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Windermere High senior Sammy Lahik, who was involved in a fatal car accident on Saturday night. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and the entire Windermere community during this incredibly difficult time," said Orange County Public Schools Superintendent Maria Vazquez in a statement reported by ClickOrlando.
