In a coordinated effort, Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Detectives and their SWAT team converged on a residential block in Windsor to execute a search warrant tied to an investigation led by the Windsor Police Department. This operation took place at approximately 12:04 pm yesterday. Sonoma Sheriff's social media post disclosed that the focus of the warrant was Jose Madrid, a 46-year-old Windsor resident with a previous felony conviction.
While combing through Madrid's residence on the 200 block of Elio Court, the officials uncovered several prohibited items suggesting a violation of his felon status. The items discovered included a loaded gun, an AR-15-style rifle, a loaded AR magazine, assorted ammunition, and body armor. Madrid was clearly in violation of laws that govern firearm and ammunition possession.
After the raid, Madrid was detained and is now facing multiple charges: he was booked for a felony warrant and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, body armor, and also a short barrel rifle, with his bail set steeply at $150,000, as reported by the Sonoma Sheriff's Facebook announcement.
