The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene at Hollywood Boulevard and North Orange Drive, where it was believed the woman brandished a handgun and made threats. The bus driver was able to quickly exit the bus, doing so unharmed. At the time of the alarming encounter, no other passengers were aboard, according to a statement obtained by MyNewsLA.

Authorities managed to take the woman into custody shortly following the disturbance. Details surrounding the woman’s motivation and whether she was indeed armed have not been confirmed by officials.

According to Metro spokesperson Mey Lyn Mitteenn in a statement given to CBS News Los Angeles, the incident happened on Metro Bus Line 212. "Thanks to the quick response from the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect was taken into custody shortly thereafter," Mitteenn said. An ongoing investigation into the incident is being conducted by LAPD.
