An early morning altercation in an unincorporated part of Washington County turned violent when a man was discovered with multiple stab wounds in his apartment. According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the 18400 block of NW Chemeketa Lane around 7:40 a.m. last Saturday. The victim, a 36-year-old man, pointed to Rosalia Martinez-Hernandez, a 26-year-old woman, as his assailant, claiming she forcefully entered his residence and proceeded to stab him multiple times.
Authorities quickly found the victim seriously injured but in stable condition, and he was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The subsequent investigation had detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit taking over, with deputies scouring the area in search of Martinez-Hernandez. It wasn't long before a patrolling deputy spotted her near the intersection of SW Springville Road and NW 178th Avenue.
At 8:25 a.m., merely 45 minutes after the initial response, Martinez-Hernandez was taken into custody without further incident. She has since been incarcerated at the Washington County Jail, where she faces serious charges, including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Burglary in the First Degree. Officials from the Sheriff's Office have indicated that additional charges may still follow as the investigation progresses.
