A 28-year-old woman is now behind bars following her arrest on Thursday in connection to a fatal stabbing in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood earlier this month. The Seattle Police Department, along with several other law enforcement agencies, tracked down the suspect in Edgewood, Washington.
Running the gamut from local detectives to specialty units, multiple divisions of law enforcement including the Homicide Unit, the Gun Violence Reduction Unit, SPD SWAT, and the Edgewood Police Department were involved in making the arrest. The collaboration was detailed on the SPD Blotter. The 55-year-old male victim of the stabbing last Monday succumbed to his injuries six days later, having been found in the 2100 block of 1st Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Unfortunately, the police were arrested in Edgewood responding to an unrelated incident when they found the suspect.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail, where she is being held for investigation of murder. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or the circumstances leading up to the crime, nor have they shared the relationship, if any, between the victim and the suspect.
As per an update from the Seattle Police Department, the investigation into the homicide continues. The suspect, yet to be charged formally, awaits further legal proceedings. She was captured without incident in a statement relayed to the public by Seattle authorities.
