Yesterday morning, a 23-year-old woman was shot in the wrist outside a private club on Knox Avenue in Monessen. The incident, reported around 1:30 a.m., sparked an investigation by the Monessen City Police and Westmoreland County detectives. According to TribLive, the woman received initial treatment at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital before being airlifted to a hospital in the Pittsburgh area.
Melanie Jones, a spokesperson for the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office, assured that the victim's injuries were not life-threatening. So far, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. Meanwhile, authorities do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
