Yolo County has recently made a call for proposals, seeking qualified nonprofits and consultants to help shape its Hate-Free Together (HFT) initiative, aimed at fostering a more inclusive and welcoming community. According to the official announcement, the chosen facilitator will lead the upcoming Hate-Free Together Strategic Planning Summit. The summit intends to unite diverse members and groups from the Yolo County area to reinforce a prevailing culture of belonging.
Applications for the role are open until April 18, and the successful contractor—selected based on their understanding of the complex needs of strategic community planning—must submit a proposal packet of up to 11 pages. The documents should include qualifications, past work examples, and a detailed plan for executing the scope outlined in the RFP. "A proposed budget for the process," the county states. Applicants may also be asked to complete an interview with members of the Hate-Free Together Executive Team.
The initiative springs from a collaboration dating back to 2022, where the annual 2x2x2 meeting between the City of Davis, Yolo County, and UC Davis sparked the HFT campaign. This effort has since enlisted additional partnerships, each committed to combating hate and encouraging community evolution. For those interested, detailed instructions and conditions related to the RFP are available at BeaconBid.
Feedback on the process is encouraged and written comments must be submitted by Friday, with the county set to respond by April 4. Tonia Murphy, who serves as the county's Procurement Manager, has been named as the designated point of contact. Wielding years of experience the field, she can be reached at her email, [email protected], or via phone at (530) 406-4830. The RFP Awardee will enter into a contractual agreement with Yolo County following the notification period that concludes on May 5, at the precise moment when the clock strikes 5:00 p.m.
