A four-year-old boy is on the mend after a harrowing encounter with an aggressive dog. As reported by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, the child, who sustained serious injuries from the attack, is no longer hospitalized, but the shadow of the event lingers. According to investigators, the animal control unit is piecing together the details of the March 11 incident that occurred around 5:30 pm on a playground at the intersection of Mayfield Drive and Marcie Court.
The exact reasons for the attack are unclear, but the German Shepherd mix lunged at the young boy during a simple interaction. The boy's father was there but could only watch as things quickly escalated. The victim was rushed to the hospital and later released, thanks to Harford County EMS.
The investigation is ongoing, and any information or tips, including calls to 410-638-3505, could help investigators understand the incident and keep the neighborhood safe.
