
The Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a 12-year-old suspect in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred on July 3, 2024, in Northwest Washington. The victim was threatened by the juvenile with a firearm while standing next to their vehicle in the 2800 block of 11th Street, Northwest. The suspect then stole the vehicle, but the victim was unharmed during the incident, as per the Metropolitan Police Department release.
After an investigation, detectives made the arrest on Tuesday, based on a DC Superior Court custody order. The suspect, from Northeast Washington, faces charges of Armed Carjacking (Gun). Despite the seriousness of the crime, the suspect remains under the juvenile justice system.
