Seattle's calm was shattered last night after a shooting in the South Seattle area left a 20-year-old man injured; according to SPD Blotter, officers were dispatched at around 10:26 p.m. in response to gunfire reports close to 29th Avenue South and South Genesee Street.
Upon their arrival, officers were met with a scene littered with evidence of violence, including 31 shell casings and damage to three vehicles and two townhomes however they did not immediately find anyone hurt on-site, as the injured man, sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg, had already been taken to Harborview Medical Center by an acquaintance after he passed out.
The young man's condition is reported as serious but stable, emphasizing the non-lethal nature of his injury. As the authorities delve into the events that led to the violent outburst, the community awaits answers and the urgency to apprehend those responsible heightens.
