A road rage altercation on March 28 in Mulberry, Polk County, has led to the arrest of 22-year-old Camden Davis after the dangerous encounter was caught on dashcam. The incident, which unfolded at around 2 p.m., began after a work truck turned from Dean Street onto State Road 37, whereupon a white Mercedes-Benz, driven by Davis, quickly passed and brake-checked the truck.
Davis is accused of having leaned out of the vehicle, aiming a handgun at the occupants of the truck, and threatening to "blow your brains out," according to a Polk County Sheriff's Office on their social media article. The dashcam video was a critical piece of evidence in identifying Davis.
During the investigation, a sheriff's detective tracked down Davis at his residence in Mulberry. Initially, Davis claimed he had honked at the truck for cutting him off but admitted to being the man in the footage after being confronted with a still image from the dashcam video. Law enforcement recovered a black Taurus pistol at his residence. Authorities reported that Davis is now facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
