
A 70-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Monday night in Los Angeles’ Rancho Park neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The incident occurred around 10:35 p.m. near the intersection of Exposition Boulevard and Westwood Boulevard, as reported by ABC7. The victim, who has not been publicly identified pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say the man was outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a dark-blue Mazda hatchback traveling at a high speed. The driver fled without stopping to render aid or identify themselves.
LAPD is urging anyone with information about the crash or the suspect vehicle to come forward. Witnesses can contact detectives at (213) 473-0235 or (877) 527-3247. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through LA Crime Stoppers. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the driver, under the city’s Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. The investigation is ongoing.
