The incident unfolded near the conjunction of northbound Shady Grove Road and Blackwell Road around 9 p.m., prompting immediate response from Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue services, the course of affairs on that fateful night saw first responders arrive at the scene after reports of the collision were made. According to Montgomery County authorities, Marangos was transported with urgency to a nearby hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle involved, a white 2020 Genesis G70, was navigating northbound on Shady Grove Road, it proceeded through the intersection at Blackwell Road where Marangos, emerging from the median was struck, what followed was a scene where life hung in the balance, swift actions of emergency medical teams racing against time, the driver of the vehicle has cooperated, remaining at the scene following the collision.
