Prescott Valley residents and those who frequent the stretch of State Route 89A Spur should prepare for the upcoming roadway shake-up set to begin this coming week. According to an announcement by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), a major pavement project will launch on Sunday, targeting the expanse between SR 89A and SR 69 at mileposts 324-331. This initiative, with a budget of $9.2 million, is promising to not just resurface but also repair designated spots along the well-trodden path known locally as Fain Road.
The Prescott Valley official website detailed the construction times, with workers slated to operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and through the night from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday to Thursday. Motorists, however, might find solace in ADOT's commitment to maintain one open lane in each direction during the construction phase, ostensibly to keep the traffic-induced headaches to a minimum.
The impact of this project on daily commutes is not to be understated, and those behind the wheel are advised to tread carefully around construction zones, honoring the safety of both the personnel and machinery. Delays, while expected to be on the shorter side, should nonetheless be anticipated as drivers navigate the construction ballet of orange cones and warning signs until the projected completion in fall 2025.
