
In a stride toward bolstering roadway safety, the Arlington Municipal Court has recently been lauded for its proactive measures in traffic safety and the prevention of impaired driving, joining a group of 26 courts recognized by the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center (TMCEC).
The court's undertakings were assessed on a multitude of fronts, including its involvement in mitigating traffic accidents, diminution of juvenile DUI crimes, enforcement against running red lights, among other traffic-related initiatives, all of which played a pivotal role in the court earning the Municipal Traffic Safety Initiatives award within the High-Volume category, during an action-packed event that had Arlington's streets thrumming with activity and safety discourse, judges and police were at the forefront nigh welcoming over two thousand eager residents.
Integral to the court's campaign was its participation in the 'Trunk or Treat' event, which saw the Arlington Police Department serve as host, where the court exhibited an innovative blend of education and celebration. As part of this event, according to the City of Arlington's official announcement, court representatives dished out candy tactfully paired with traffic safety messages, emphasizing prudent safety measures such as using sidewalks and curbing aggressive driving tendencies.
Since its inception in 1984, the TMCEC has carved out a reputation for itself as a beacon of educational leadership, delivering premier training and learning avenues for Texas' municipal judges and court staff. With its extensive reach, it's recognized as the most voluminous judicial education institution in Texas and holds a formidable presence on the national stage.
