Arlington's Northeast Branch Library is set to temporarily shut down its main areas to lay down new carpeting, striving to bring a refreshed vibe to the communal space. The closure is scheduled to begin on April 28 and is anticipated to last about a week, as confirmed by an announcement from the City of Arlington.
Despite the brief disruption, library services remain largely available to the public. Patrons will still be able to drop off returns and seamlessly pick up holds in the Northeast Branch Library's lobby, albeit with a modified schedule. The temporary lobby hours are set to run from Monday through Thursday, 12-6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 12-5 p.m. It’s an adjustment that might cause some to reconsider their usual visit times, but it should not disrupt the essential availability of library services.
Arlington library-goers who require full services during the renovation period are encouraged to visit nearby locations. These include the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, East Library, Recreation Center, and Woodland West Branch, which offer extended hours throughout the week, including Sundays, for those whose schedules demand a weekend visit.
