The incident, occurring at approximately 10:44 a.m., tragically resulted in one fatality, identified as John Carrizales, a Hispanic male born on August 18, 1973.
The other rider involved in the crash was reported to have stayed at the scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement's efforts to thoroughly understand what or who exactly precipitated the deadly event. As of now, this is marked as the 27th fatal crash in Austin for the year 2025, which has, in sum, led swiftly to claimed 31 lives altogether. In contrast, the previous year witnessed a slightly lower count by this date, with 24 fatal crashes and an equivalent number of deaths.
