The Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office announced the passing of Assistant Sheriff Lenora A. Dawson on Thursday last week. Dawson had served with the agency since February 7, 2008. Her career was marked by steady advancement and a long-standing commitment to the city of Baltimore.
As per the Baltimore City Sheriff's Office Facebook post, Sheriff Sam Cogen said, "Lenora was a force of strength—a fearless leader, and friend. Her dedication to this city and our office was unmatched. What hurts most is losing someone who meant so much to so many of us."
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office also extended condolences in a Facebook post, joining others in acknowledging the loss felt across the law enforcement community.
