The initiative, which forgoes sessions on May 23 and July 4, promises a mix of tours, interactive activities, and presentations led by county department experts. George Kruse, the Chair of Manatee County Commission highlighted the importance of the academy in remarks set to kick off the program: "The Neighborhood Ambassador Academy is a powerful way to connect our residents with the work happening in Manatee County every day," said Kruse in a statement obtained by the Manatee County's news release. "It’s about building trust, encouraging involvement, and helping our community better understand how we serve them."
Debbie Deleon, the Neighborhood Connections Division Manager, pointed out the educational benefits of the program, "This program is a fantastic opportunity for residents to learn how our departments serve the public and manage resources," Deleon told the Manatee County's news publication. The academy comes at no cost to participants, but space is limited to around 30 residents, with registration on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested should apply promptly, as spots are expected to fill quickly.
