Residents of Bellevue in search of an opportunity to shape the future of their community's human services will want to mark their calendars for Monday, May 5. The Bellevue Human Services Commission is set to hold a public hearing at 6 p.m., described by the City of Bellevue's official announcement, to gather public input on housing and human services needs. This input is critical, as it will influence the development of the 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) annual action plan.

The session aims to be as inclusive as possible, offering both in-person and virtual ways for the community to join in the conversation. According to an announcement, the Commission will consider this feedback, alongside other community outreach efforts, to shape recommendations for the 2026 CDBG allocations. From food security to homelessness prevention and services for marginalized groups, the focus is broad and aimed at closing gaps and reducing disparities among residents.

For those who cannot attend the hybrid hearing or prefer the pen to the podium, written comments are being accepted. Those wishing to submit their perspectives can email [email protected] starting April 17 until noon on the day of the hearing. The full agenda for the May 5 meeting will be available on the Human Services Commission calendar on May 1. Detailed information on how to access the hearing will be included.
