A grim discovery was made on the Columbia River, as authorities pulled a dead body from the water near Hayden Island yesterday. KOIN reports that Multnomah County officials confirmed the body was spotted just after 3:30 PM and subsequently retrieved by the river patrol deputies.
KATU noted that the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) had responded to a call about the body before dispatching a river patrol crew to recover the victim. As of their latest reports, the person's identity remains a mystery.
Once the body was recovered from the river, it was taken into the care of the medical examiner’s office. According to KPTV, the medical examiner has been tasked with determining both the identity and cause of death, which, at this point, have not been made public.
