
In a significant drug bust in Dorchester, Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Units seized various illegal substances from a man now facing trafficking charges. The arrest, which happened yesterday, April 23, led to the confiscation of 70 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of crack cocaine, and 4 pounds of marijuana. Additionally, officers found over $26,000 in combined U.S. and Dominican Republic currency.
The Boston Police reported on their official website that at around 1:47 p.m., officers from District A-7 (East Boston) and C-6 (South Boston) conducted an investigation that led them to 34 Westwind Road, where they executed the search warrant. The target of their operation was 34-year-old Anthony Francisco of Fall River, who is now custody pending his arraignment in South Boston District Court on various drug-related charges.
As per information conveyed by the Boston Police Department, Francisco is expected to be arraigned on charges that include trafficking of a Class B controlled substance and possession with the intent to distribute Class B and D substances. The categories of drugs in question include popular narcotics like cocaine and marijuana, substances that continue to fuel an ongoing battle between law enforcement and illegal drug operations.
The specific charges against Francisco enumerate the seriousness of the alleged crimes: "Trafficking of Class B," "Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B," and "Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D." The case highlights the prevalent issue of drug trafficking that Boston authorities are persistently trying to curtail.
