The Boulder City Police Department recently honored Officer Avery and others from Clark County for their efforts in addressing impaired driving. The ceremony, held on Sunday, recognized the ongoing challenge of DUIs in Nevada and across the nation. Officer Avery made over 36 DUI arrests in 2024, as reported by the Boulder City Police Department.
Officer Avery and his colleagues received engraved handcuffs bearing the name of Isaiah Tecpa, an 18-year-old who was killed by an impaired driver in Las Vegas in October of 2023. The handcuffs were presented by Tecpa's family in recognition of the efforts to prevent impaired driving incidents, as stated by the Boulder City Police Department.
According to the Boulder City Police Department on their Facebook page, engraved handcuffs were awarded to Officer Avery for his work in the campaign against impaired driving. The department urges people to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and emphasizes the importance of education and law enforcement in maintaining road safety.
