The New York Police Department has recently warned the public of a sexual predator responsible for at least four assaults in Brooklyn over the past three weeks. This individual's pattern of attacks, targeting women irrespective of their age and time of day, has raised alarm across the community.
The first reported incident took place on March 19 in Dumbo, when a 30-year-old woman was assaulted from behind around 6:45 a.m. by the suspect, who is described as grabbing her waist and forcing himself onto her. The series of similar assaults continued, with the most recent cases occurring back-to-back on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, according to The New York Post.
During an attack last Sunday, the assailant forcibly wrapped his arms and legs around a 21-year-old woman near Middagh and Willow streets. Another incident involved a 34-year-old victim near Henry and Joralemon streets. The most recent known assault took place in Fort Greene, where a 60-year-old woman was molested as she walked near Fulton Street and Ashland Place. Fortunately, none of the victims sustained physical injuries during these incidents.
NYPD has been ardently working to apprehend this individual, releasing video footage and updated images of the suspect clad in distinctively bright attire. The man is seen wearing a black hoodie, jacket and sweatpants, and white sneakers in one video, and bright red sweatpants in another. NYPD is actively asking anyone with information to come forward. According to a NYPD Crimestoppers social media post, a reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for tips that lead to the arrest of the suspect. Informants can reach out to NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline anonymously if necessary, a move that could help to quickly bring this unsettling spree to an end.
