
The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant on the 200 block of High School Street in San Andreas last Friday. This led to the discovery of a large marijuana grow operation, as reported by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
The raid, which took place at around 9:00 AM, resulted in the seizure of over 5,000 marijuana plants and 460 pounds of processed marijuana, with an estimated street value of $1.3 million to $2.1 million. The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office also found illegal steroids and high-capacity magazines at the location. Authorities noted unsafe wiring, which posed a fire risk.
According to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, the investigation into an illegal marijuana cultivation site near a high school in Calaveras County is ongoing, with no suspects found at the scene. Narcotic investigators are examining potential criminal violations due to the site's location. The warrant was executed during spring break to reduce any impact on students, and a deputy was assigned to the school for added security.
