
Last Wednesday, a routine investigation into a major car crash on the 13300 block of T C Jester Blvd escalated when deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office identified the at-fault driver. The driver attempted to make a quick escape from the crash site in another vehicle, leading to a chase, according to a social media post from Constable Mark Herman's office.
After a brief pursuit, the suspect, later identified as Rajiv Sulal, abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into a nearby residence. Deputies entered the home and apprehended Sulal shortly thereafter. During the arrest, it was discovered that Sulal was in possession of a controlled substance, resulting in additional charges. The chase ended with charges of evasion and possession, adding to the seriousness of the situation.
The Constable's office announced that "Rajiv Sulal was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading and Possession of a Controlled Substance," further noting that Sulal's bond and court details remained pending.
