
Chelsea Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that left a 33-year-old resident with life-threatening injuries last night. The Chelsea Police Department revealed through a social media post that officers responded to a report of what was initially believed to be a stabbing on Webster Avenue near Broadway.
Upon their arrival, authorities discovered the victim suffering from a severe head wound caused by a gunshot. Chelsea Fire and EMS were quickly to dispatch to the scene and transported the individual to Massachusetts General Hospital for emergency surgery, where the victim is currently in a critical condition. Chelsea Detectives took measures to collect ballistic evidence and started to thoroughly canvas the area to locate video sources that could provide further insights into the incident.
In response to the violent outbreak, Chief Keith Houghton condemned the act, stating on the Chelsea Police Department Facebook post, “This was a brazen act of violence in a busy area of our city.
