
The Chester County community is grappling with the aftermath of two separate shooting incidents that left one man dead and two others injured. The Chester County Sheriff's Office shared an update on social media, stating that Highway 21—previously closed between Old Winnsboro Road and Highway 200 for the investigation—was reopened at 12:38 a.m. earlier today.
Yesterday, shootings occurred in the Great Falls area on Mcclinton Road and Ridgeway Road respectively, these incidents taking place within minutes of each other prompting a widespread law enforcement response that included Chester County Sheriff's Office, Great Falls Police Department SC, and the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), with additional assistance from Fairfield County Sheriff's Office and Fort Lawn Police Department, as the suspect believed to be involved was later detained in the Charlotte area with help from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department according to the sheriff's office update. At the time of the shootings, the roadway was shutdown, which heavily affected local traffic and alarmed residents.
The deceased male was one of the three individuals who sustained gunshot wounds during the incidents, while the other two victims were transported to the hospital for treatment, their conditions remain unconveyed to the public as the investigation is still considered active and ongoing.
