According to a community alert issued by the CPD, the event took place in the early hours of Wednesday, April 2nd, around 2:42 am. Witnesses or individuals with knowledge of the accident are encouraged to come forward.
The vehicle involved is described as a dark grey, four-door Sport Utility Vehicle with yellow Illinois temporary plates. After the collision, the vehicle was seen traveling westbound and then fleeing the scene without stopping to aid the injured pedestrian. As of now, descriptions of the suspected driver have yet to publicly be disclosed, leaving the offender's identity unknown. The CPD is asking the community to stay vigilant and to report any sightings of the vehicle that matches this description.
