Heads up, Clackamas County voters, your democracy toolkit is hitting mailboxes starting today. According to an announcement from Clackamas County Elections, if you're one of the 319,750 registered voters in the area, you should be on the lookout for a special delivery. The ballots for the upcoming May 20, 2025, Special District Election are coming your way, enclosed in a brightly colored 6-by-9-inch packet featuring the official "Election Mail" insignia.
Just to make sure you can keep tabs on your civic duty, the county has rolled out a nifty service called "Track Your Ballot." It's quite the digital leash for your vote, notifying you the moment your ballot is sent out and later confirming when it's been accepted for counting. Missed a signature or causing confusion with your Hancock? The system has your back, letting you know along with the traditional mailed letter, poised to chase down every valid vote. "More than 56,000 Clackamas County voters have already signed up for this free service," noted the official statement. Sign-ups are open online at clackamas.us/elections/track-your-ballot.
No stamp? No problem. Return your ballot by mail or drop it off at one of the 25 official ballot drop sites scattered across the county. Voters are advised to mail their ballots no later than May 16 to ensure timely arrival, or alternatively, use an official ballot drop site right up until 8 p.m. on Election Day. For those in Colton feeling left out due to the temporary closure of their usual drop site, any alternate location will do the trick. Just keep an eye out for the asterisk indicating drive-up drop access for added ease. For a full list of sites, check out the original announcement.
Don't panic if you've got an empty mailbox come May 8 – replacements are just an email, call, or visit away from Clackamas County Elections. Having to juggle too many deadlines?
